One of the most common questions that we get asked by homeowners is how do I use the thumb attachment on the excavator. This video quickly shows you how to operate the thumb on your Kubota kx40 rental and is pretty universal across all of our various excavator equipment rentals.
Kubota Regen Process + Thumb Operating
One of many great features of Kubota is the regen process on their newer machines. The Kubota Regen process is the process of burning off (oxidizing) the accumulated soot from the filter. This occurs automatically on the machines approximately every 60 hrs. When this regen process begins, you will see an Engine RPM indicator light start flashing. *It is important to make sure that you keep working through it (or can you level the machine idle) AND during this process make sure to actually increase the engine RPM until the indicator light turns off. This should take about 20min or so. Do not lower the RPMs or turn off the machine or the cycle will be interrupted during this regeneration.
